Better tank?
Hey I have played for about 7 months so feel free to rant on me for this question.
I'm thinking about building myself a tank so I was wondering whether I should go with a Dervish or a Warrior. IGN Dean Brady Thanks in advance |

Obsiflesh Ele > Obsiflesh Ranger (yes) > Whatever warriors do > Obsiflesh Derv (derv has no e-management and thus makes the last on the list)

I would say they are both equally able to tank, it's all according to the circumstances. Typically, though, warrior have more options in more situations.
Also, other classes can tank effectively as well. According to what your fighting and what your party needs.....Ele, Ranger, and Monk can all also perform as tank. |

You can, but you'd find things much slower/harder if you did. |

"Tanks," as in characters that stand around and absorb damage, are not really neccessary in this game due to the design of the aggro system.
Now, if you just meant, which is a better melee character to play as, I prefer warrior. |

Um earth ele can't stand interrupts nor enchantment strip... Warriors can raise health a lot and have survivability

"tanks" are bad dont make one.
but i hope you are using the term incorrectly, many do. "tanks" stand around and absorb all of the damage for the team, this sounds like a good idea, but it dosnt work in GW. if you meant a frontline character, then either are good choices. i personally prefer dervish, but thats all person preference. |

You just need to use Glyph at the right time/place. Mantra of Resolve and Concentration can work too.

If by "tank" you mean a frontline character that can take and dish out a nice pounding, I'd choose Warrior.

For pure obsflesh tank, ranger beats ele, war and derv simply because they can perma obs, have the best armor by far... period and have built in emanagement. That said, it's a more 'advanced' build that most people struggle with as it involves good timing, stance juggling and knowledge of opponents.

That controversy is stemming from what you mean by "tank".
